We operate using an FAA-approved Part 141 syllabus, giving our students a structured and proven training foundation. At the same time, we offer the flexibility of a Part 61 school, allowing you to train at your own pace—whether that means flying every day or fitting lessons into a busy schedule. What is the Difference Between Part 61 and Part 141 Flight Training?
Part 61 Flight School
- Part 61 schools offer a more flexible, less regulated training approach. The instructor can tailor the lessons to fit the student’s individual needs and pace, without a strict FAA-approved syllabus.
- Self-Paced Learning: Ideal for people who prefer to learn at their own pace, such as working professionals or recreational pilots. The flexibility allows students to train on their own schedule, which can be helpful if they can only fly part-time.
- Ideal for those who want more control over their flight training schedule.
Part 141 Flight School
- These schools follow a strict syllabus for flight training. The program must meet specific standards, including lesson plans, student progress tracking, and stage checks.
- Part 141 schools require a combination of ground school classes and in-flight training that can feel more like a traditional academic program. Classroom settings rarely are one-on-one or customized to a particular student.
- Ideal For Students who prefer a more formal, regulated environment. These programs are often found at larger flight academies or university aviation programs.
